Professor David Tanne

Professor David Tanne is a senior neurologist, Full Professor of Neurology at the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, holder of the André Ballard Chair in Biological Psychiatry, Director of the Stroke and Cognition Institute at Rambam Health Care Campus, and Founder and Director of the Brain Health Clinic.  He is widely recognized for his clinical, academic, and scientific contributions in stroke, cognition, brain health, and neuro-tech.

Professor Tanne currently serves as President of the Israeli Society for Cognitive Neurology and is the immediate past President of the Israeli Neurological Association. Through these leadership roles, he has helped advance neurological care, strengthen professional standards, and promote innovation in neurology and brain technologies in Israel.

He completed fellowship training in stroke and cerebrovascular diseases at Henry Ford Hospital and the Health Sciences Center in Detroit. In Israel, he was the pioneer of intravenous thrombolytic therapy with tissue plasminogen activator, t-PA, for acute ischemic stroke, reducing the burden of major neurological disability. He also serves as Chair of the Advisory Committee for the Israeli Stroke Register at the Israeli Ministry of Health.

Professor Tanne has authored more than 300 peer-reviewed scientific publications and is internationally known for his work in stroke prevention, brain aging, cognitive decline, and the clinical application of innovative brain technologies. He is a strong advocate for brain health and preventive neurology, supports the advancement of Israeli brain-tech, and serves as Medical Director at QuantalX Neuroscience.
